Job Responsibility:
Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services and Systems Division is hiring a Design & Power System Protection Lead to join our team in the Power Systems Engineering (PSE) group. We offer great benefits from day 1 with a guaranteed 40-hour paid week with hybrid/ remote options.
The position can be either based out of our Delta, Kelowna, Kamloops, BC locations or in Calgary, Edmonton AB and requires 25-40% travel.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $82,000 - $120,000 a year.

What you'll do:
Eaton has the largest and most experienced team of power system engineers in the industry, with industry-standard software and advanced modeling and analysis capabilities at their fingertips. This team brings extensive skills and experiences to power system analysis and design. Active participation in technical societies such as IEEE and collaboration with a variety of utilities and industries ensures that our engineers are knowledgeable about today's cutting edge engineering techniques. We assist customers at every stage of the power system: from substation and distribution system design to renewable energy and smart grid engineering, from safety and reliability-focused studies to power quality and grounding related audits and analyses.
The primary purpose of this Power Systems Engineering (PSE) position is to provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.
- Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.
- Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
- Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers
- Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency
- Mentor or lead other engineers on large sized projects.
- Ability to run large studies and projects unassisted
- Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings
- Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company's safety program
Qualifications:
BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- P.Eng License in any Canadian Province
- Seven (7) years of experience in power systems
- Bachelor Degree focused in power systems
- IEEE Membership
- Active in Local IEEE
