PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The main responsibilities of this position are to properly account for financial transactions and produce various financial information while ensuring the integrity and rigour of the accounting practices used. He/she is also responsible for monitoring these accounting policies and procedures. JOB DESCRIPTION
- Actively participate in month-end processes (perform data entry and file management, maintain and control certain current and period-end accounting entries, produce monitoring tables and analyze data and ensure the accuracy of reconciliations);
- Perform bank reconciliations;
- Reconciling physical inventory with accounting inventory;
- Participate in cash management;
- Perform management and administration for several small companies related to the main group;
- Assist in the management of the depreciation file;
- Assist the team in the letter of credit process for foreign purchases, make necessary amendments and claims as required;
- Perform monthly government tax remittances for multiple companies;
- Produce specific and customized reports, monthly and on demand;
- Perform Statistics Canada reports as required;
- Assist in the preparation of the year-end audit file and external audits;
- Ensure application of and compliance with Canadian accounting policies and procedures;
- Perform all other related tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office software, particularly Excel;
- Knowledge of Great Plains an asset;
- Rigor and attention to detail;
- Demonstrate initiative and autonomy;
- Sense of analysis and synthesis;
- Good management of priorities, respect of deadlines and tight deadlines;
- Team player, with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
- Bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written;
