Job Responsibility:

Eden Wilds is looking for a House Manager who lives nearby to manage and oversee all on-site operations. The House Manager will report to the head of the family who owns the property.

About the position

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a great experience for guests, effectively answering their questions, address their complaints and even anticipating their needs with the aim to provide 5-star hospitality.

The position includes working closely with cleaners, handymen, maintenance operators and anyone else whose services are required. The position also includes working remotely with the owners. Some degree of tech savviness will be necessary to be at ease with multiple communication channels and take advantage of vacation rental management tools such as digital schedules, checklists and guest guidebooks.

You will carry out a variety of duties including supervising and coordinating activities of cleaners, handymen and maintenance operators, communicating with guests who have a confirmed reservation prior to their arrival, staging premises for their arrival, and looking after them during their stay.

You will need to be available 24/7 for emergencies during every stay, but you will also be able to work from home and have flexibility in your work schedule as long as guests have what they need and all on-site operational tasks run smoothly.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Stage premises for guest arrival
  • Welcome guests in-person and provide information on amenities and safety rules
  • Be there when guest leave and collect their feedback
  • Inspect premises after every stay and check for potential damages
  • Answer any questions from guests (once their reservation has been confirmed)
  • Assist guests with grocery pre-stocking and delivery
  • Advise guests on nearby points of interest and things to do in the area
  • Be reachable 24/7 during every stay and be prepared to help with any issues that require in-person assistance
  • Learn about what guests prefer and adapt to this feedback over time
  • Work collaboratively with the owners to continuously improve the guest experience
  • Supervise and coordinate with service providers such as cleaners, handymen, maintenance operators
  • Check that the premises are thoroughly cleaned and fully functional before every stay
  • Establish maintenance checklist and perform regular inspection
  • Ensure small repairs are carried out in a timely manner and arrange for routine maintenance
  • Recommend and arrange for other maintenance service as required
  • Establish cleaning checklist and cleaning schedule to meet booking turnover needs
  • Schedule mid-stay clean including linen and towel change if pre-booked by guests
  • Assist cleaners in performing duties
  • Put fresh linens and towels for every stay
  • Replenish toiletries, pantry items and all other supplies as required for every stay

Requirements

  • Must live nearby (Pincher Creek) and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be available weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
  • Previous experience in hospitality is an asset
  • Deep knowledge of the surrounding area is an asset
  • Connections with the local community is an asset
  • 4WD vehicle is necessary to access the property (can be provided)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $26.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 22 per week
