What You'll Be Doing

The Senior Sourcing Manager is responsible for creating and driving the strategy for the planning team. They build and drive the successful implementation of savings, efficiency and resiliency projects, leading and influencing cross-functional teams. They are excellent communicators and storytellers, escalate risk to stakeholders and leaders proactively and meaningfully. They lead and inspire a team of high performing planners, building an authentic and trust based environment that fosters development and empowerment.

  • Proactively develop and maintain productive supplier relationships and monitor and communicate supplier performance in fulfillment, QA rejects, customer returns, etc. through Vendor KPI performance management
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that integrate the strategic objectives of the department and organization, coordinate to gain buy-in from key stakeholders on the approach
  • Meet Procurement department KPIs including but not limited to grocery spend, savings, supplier contract terms
  • Conduct the strategic sourcing process including, RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs
  • Identify potential suppliers and establish long-term business relationships
  • Develop a decision matrix to drive objective business recommendation to departments and stakeholders
  • Drive and implement the signed agreements for sourcing decisions
  • Secure advantageous terms, prices, and conditions through effective negotiation.
  • Continuously assess and improve existing supplier agreements.
  • Interface with Finance and departments to ensure compliance and savings flow though
  • Demonstrating a future-focused mindset, showing curiosity about relevant industry trends, translating risks and opportunities into business strategies
  • Analyzes complex procurement challenges and assists in developing solutions to best meet business needs and mitigate risks to the organization.
  • Foster a culture of cost-saving in procurement.
  • Lead various internal purchasing and procurement projects within the organization.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring & coaching to direct report. Supports self and team growth by identifying stretch goal opportunities. Model leadership behaviour for the organization
  • Maintain open and timely communication with leaders and stakeholders on project and initiative status, clearly communicating risk and support needed
  • Support and Maintain Fresh Prep Quality Standards with suppliers and escalate risk and non-compliance appropriately

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in the areas of strategic sourcing and risk management in the Food industry: foodservice, retail, manufacturing
  • 5+ years of experience in financial forecasting, in-depth analytics, business case development
  • Business and financial understanding of how procurement brings financial value to the overall profit and loss
  • 2+ years of experience and a successful track record of leading a team including coaching, motivating, and influencing a team
  • Experience in developing a strategic plan that aligns with corporate strategies and the ability to clearly articulate such a vision
  • Exceptional communication skills (Verbal and Written) combined with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • A proven track record of creating and executing projects that drive efficiencies, cost savings and holistic supply chain benefit
  • Highly effective relationship building and influencing skills
  • Driven, hands-on and willing to roll up sleeves as required in a lean, fast-paced and focused organization
  • Self-starter, willing to make risk-based decision and take ownership and accountability
  • An innovative and strategic thought leader with an entrepreneurial spirit - you make things happen
  • An analytical problem solver who uses data to drive decisions
  • Systems: Knowledge of Google Sheets,PowerPoint, and others
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP or PMAC SCMP certification a plus; MBA a plus
  • Fluency in French and English
