Job Responsibility:

ROLE: The Subcontract Administrator is responsible for developing, negotiating and administering subcontracts for pipeline construction. This position ensures that the change management provisions are followed, and payments are assessed and distributed to the appropriate signing authorities. Strong administration is required to provide timely and accurate management of subcontracts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • All pre and post subcontract management including assisting in the tender process, the evaluation of proposals through to subcontract award and the post subcontract administration.
  • Assess vendors to ensure that work performed will be in accordance with project standards and needs.
  • Ensure that all applicable laws and regulations are followed at all times.
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Perform vendor health checks to proactively manage vendor performance.
  • Review all vendor change requests processing only those that are justified in accordance with the subcontract terms and conditions.
  • Anticipate, assess and rank project risks and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in successful and unsuccessful respondent debriefing.
  • Ensure subcontractor invoices are in compliance with established procedures and certify / approve them to company procedures.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met, complete performance assessments prior to contract closeouts.
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education or certificate in supply chain, estimating, or related field. Prior experience in a similar role may be acceptable in lieu of these qualification requirements.
Experience:
  • Experience in pipeline construction and or subcontractor involvement would be an asset.
  • 3-5 years' experience in supply chain, purchasing, estimating, contract administration or law.
  • 3-5 years' experience in contracts management.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of construction contracts and subcontracts.
  • Ability to be proactive and look toward future project needs.
  • Ability to plan and schedule multiple subcontracts throughout the project.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and ensure that conditions are met.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is site based in the Squamish project offices. The working hours are 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through to Saturday with scheduled project shutdowns for long weekends. Occasional visits to other sites or SMJV offices maybe required throughout the duration of the project. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Subcontract Coordinator reports to the project Senior Commercial Manager. Expected Compensation Range of $30.00 - $45.00 per hour We thank all applicants in advance.
