Job Summary:
The Production Finance Analyst will work within the Production Finance team at Walt Disney Animation Studios Vancouver. This is a critical role in supporting the compilation of Production Finance costs across various productions, supporting Federal & Provincial tax credit audits, and analyzing overhead costs associated with Vancouver production. This role will interact with various stakeholders including Production Finance Leads, Finance management, Production management and Finance teams at Burbank Animation Studio. Reporting to Director, Finance & Planning this role is an incredible opportunity to learn about Animation production cycle and build financial analysis skills.
Key Responsibilities
Support recording of actual production costs with Production Finance Lead including journal entries, ensuring coding/classification is accurate, and back-up resource for weekly actualization
Maintain various operational production metrics including analysis
Update production trackers to ensure key milestones are met
Analyze, track and reconcile Production travel costs
Support weekly production timecard reconciliation and submission process
Lead calculation, billing and collection of production funding from parent Studio
Keep cash tracker up to date and report bi-weekly
Process production and overhead invoices including tracking through end to end
Partner with various overhead departments to create forecasts and annual budgets
Analyze and report production overhead costs on monthly basis to department leaders
Collaborate with resource planning team to report production headcount and related metrics
Requirements
2 + years experience in finance role, preferably in the Entertainment industry
Bachelor's degree required (emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred)
CPA (or accounting designation) a plus
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues
Strong knowledge of Excel
SAP and Cognos experience is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues to Studio management
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping supervisor properly informed
A passion for Animation and be confident working in dynamic team environment that offers inclusivity and exposure to production staff of all levels
The hiring range for this position in British Columbia, Canada is C$59,000 to C$96,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other variable pay or benefits, may be offered dependent on the level and position offered.
