Process Automation Analyst - Hamilton, Ontario Onsite
Reports to: Manager - Process Automation
Department: Information Technology and Automation

Your day-to-day
· Under general supervision, develop, test and implement applications utilizing PLCs, HMIs, Drives and other intelligent electronic devices. Train users. Provide detailed documentation.
· Provide application and administrative support for 3rd party software packages (eg Rockwell Suite of Products including FTView, FTDirectory, FTHistorian & Asset Centre, ThinManager, iba PDA process data collection system, Cognex surface inspection). This would include upgrading and patching as well as troubleshooting issues.
· Support critical production systems in a timely fashion; troubleshoot problems and maximize operating efficiencies with minimal interruption.
· Learn and understand the technology involved in coating, annealing and temper rolling sheet steel.
· Work with personnel from varied disciplines in a manufacturing environment toward continual improvement in production capabilities.
· Off-hours, on-call response to high-priority issues is expected. Occasional after-hours project implementation work is required.
What you bring to the table
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree or community college diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. Recent grad to 5 years of experience.
· Experience, knowledge or willingness to learn the following:
o Rockwell FTView Studio/Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000
o Administration of Rockwell Software packages (eg FTView, FTHistorian, Asset Centre, ThinManager)
o Automax PLC
o OPC data transfer
o Virtualization software including VMWare
o AutoCAD
· Must have a valid Ontario Driver's license and access to a reliable car
· Must be eligible to work in Canada
Job Skills and Knowledge
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
· Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment

· Includes work in both office and mill environments with a high impact team
