Job Responsibility:

GENERAL PRECAST LABORERS

This position is a plant-based operational role located in Red Deer, AB. at Proform's Precast Manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will adhere to Proform Safety, Quality, and Quantity Standards. This position would require the candidate to possess experience and knowledge of working with precast concrete as well as working well within a Team.

Hours: Full-time, permanent, 40+ hours/week, various shift times, frequent overtime

Responsibilities:

• Set up and stripping of concrete forms.
• Use/place rebar and/or wire mesh to reinforce concrete.
• Working within a Team to pour, spread/smooth, trowel and finish concrete.
• Patching finished concrete products.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
• Maintain a clean work area: pick up all tools and equipment each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Using hand tools to grind concrete product and shape to finish.
• Responsible for quality of product and efficiency of production.
• Participate in training and ongoing learning opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Proven work experience as a concrete labourer or similar construction role.
• Ability to use and read a tape measure in both metric and imperial.
• Ability to perform strenuous tasks with hands.
• Ability to kneel, bend and lift heavy materials.
• Ability to measure accurately and read specifications.
• Knowledge of rebar tying, reading blueprints, and concrete finishing considered an asset.
• Reliability, flexible availability for differing shifts, and a strong work ethic are absolutely key.
• Must be punctual with a good attendance record.
• Positive, proactive attitude and approach to issues.
• Safety-oriented; we have a very strong safety culture.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Working Environment:

• Working various shift start times.
• The majority of work is performed standing/kneeling.
• Working in a safety sensitive manufacturing/production environment requiring personal protective equipment.
• Concrete plant conditions of noise, dust, etc.
• Working in varying temperatures; indoors in environmentally controlled conditions and outdoors in all weather and temperatures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
