Wage Schedule: $43.190 - $60.120 per hour
Posting Reference: 2400002357 This position is open to all qualified ONA staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 1 August 2024 and closing at 11:59 pm on 9 August 2024. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Unit Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of patient assignment at LHW, chair allocation for patients in collaboration with LHO, coordination of nursing, staff and resources on all shifts, facilitating patient flow, and acting as a steward for developing and facilitating the family-centred approach within Ambulatory In-Centre Hemodialysis. The Unit Coordinator will also assist in the support of any required data collection with the Data Lead, focused on data collection related to COVID (patient tracker) as per requirements of the Ontario Renal Network, to maintain data accountability in the Ontario Renal Reporting System and ORRS. QUALIFICATION:
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
- Current BCLS;
- B.Sc. N, preferred;
- Recent Unit Coordinator experience required (must be within the last 2-3 years);
- Minimum two years' recent experience in hemodialysis, required;
- CNeph certification is preferred;
- Recent & related supervisory experience is an asset
- Proven understanding of staff scheduling (ONA and CUPE), staff/patient assignments and patient flow
- Demonstrated leadership, teaching and mentorship skills;
- Effective organizational; planning; prioritization and time management skills;
- Demonstrated ability to deal with competing demands as well as maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations;
- Demonstrated problem solving; critical thinking and decision making skills;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills that enables you to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and physicians, and the community;
- Proven ability to work well independently;
- Ability to advocate for quality based patient outcomes within an interdisciplinary team environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;
- Proven commitment to patient centred care;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area
