Student IIIDepartment: Human Resources Program: Human Resources Status: Temporary Full Time (~4 Months) 8 Hour Shifts, Days, Schedule (Subject to Change) Location: Oshawa Wage Schedule: $18.40-$21.07 per hour File Number: 2500001041 Job Description: As an HR Summer student, you will work closely with our HR team, gaining hands-on experience in writing and refining job descriptions. This role involves researching job roles, collaborating with department heads, and ensuring clarity and consistency in job postings. You will develop valuable skills in HR documentation, and compliance while supporting other HR functions. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the creation, review, and revision of job descriptions and job postings to ensure accuracy and alignment with company needs. Research industry standards and best practices to enhance job descriptions. Collaborate with HR team, managers and employees to gather job-specific details. Maintain and update a job description database, and provide advices for job postings. Support the HR team in implementing a structured job description program. Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies in job descriptions. Assist in job description implementation, including but not limit to new template, new database, new process etc. Support HR administrative tasks, including maintaining records and filing meeting notes. Participate in weekly HR meetings and communicate with the HR Manager regarding project updates. Assist in additional HR tasks as required. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field. Strong writing, research, and literacy skills, with an emphasis on clarity and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience or understanding of HR processes, job analysis, and best practices preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders. Strong organizational abilities and time management skills. Basic knowledge of labor laws and compliance regulations preferred. Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Capacity for teamwork and collaboration. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
