For more than four decades, Radiance has been a steadfast partner on the journey towards healing for women and children affected by domestic violence. We are driven by a collective commitment to ending the cycle of abuse and providing a lifeline of support and resources to those affected. We are a multi-services organization, supporting community needs including a residential shelter, community counselling, and children's programming.

THE POSITION:

The Community Connector develops and executes engagement activities with faith communities as part of an effort to end domestic violence. As part of a multi-faceted organization, you will be looked to for your understanding of community engagement / public participation, and for your ability to engage with a diverse stakeholder group. Your professional communication skills and in depth understanding of faith communities will round out your qualifications, ensuring each interaction and encounter is timely and purposeful.

This role reports to the Director of Operations and Impact and is an active collaborator.

YOU WILL:

  • Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with faith communities across Alberta in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Impact and internal teams.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that inspire vision and interest in cultivating abuse free faith communities.
  • Plan, coordinate and prioritize meetings, workshops and engagement events.
  • Develop and foster partnerships with local and provincial faith organizations.
  • Identify and cultivate a circle of champions within faith networks.
  • Collaborate with external consultant to co-develop strategic frameworks for change.
  • Facilitate multi-faith dialogues and engagement sessions.
  • Represent Radiance at various faith events and with key external stake holders.
  • Monitor religious, political, social and economic trends to inform, for strategic planning.
  • Demonstrate and promote organizational core values, care, collaboration, innovation, empathy, and courage in all aspects of teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as business, not-for-profit management, public relations, communications.
  • 5-7 years' experience relationship management, project management or related field, preferably in a faith based or community development environment.
  • Strong experience with stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and event planning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Outstanding organizational skills to plan and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communications, interpersonal, negotiation, and event planning skills.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the non-profit sector preferred.
