Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Perl Developer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Perl programming, with proficiency in Perl modules/packages, creating subroutines, file handling, text parsing, database connection, REST API creation, and strong troubleshooting skills.

As a Perl Developer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining our Perl-based applications and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Perl-based applications and scripts to support various business functions.
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable Perl code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Utilize Perl modules and packages to enhance application functionality and efficiency.
• Create and maintain subroutines for common tasks and functions.
• Implement file handling techniques for reading, writing, and manipulating data files.
• Perform text parsing operations to extract and process information from structured and unstructured data sources.
• Establish database connections using Perl database interfaces (DBI) and execute SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Perl frameworks or libraries.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of Perl code to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide technical support and assistance to other team members as needed.
• Stay updated with the latest Perl development trends, tools, and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Perl programming.
• Proficiency in Perl modules/packages and creating subroutines.
• Experience with file handling techniques and text parsing operations.
• Strong understanding of database concepts and experience with database connection using Perl DBI.
• Knowledge of REST API principles and experience in creating RESTful APIs with Perl.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
