About the Position: As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner at Dundas Family Medical Group, you will work alongside our team of physicians and play a crucial role in providing exceptional medical care to our patients. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your clinical skills and knowledge to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions. Your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, providing patient education, and assisting in minor surgical procedures.

Key Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner
  • Registration in the Extended Class with the College of Nurses in Ontario;
  • Member of the Nurse Practitioner's Association of Ontario;
  • Current Basic First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification
Physician Assistant
  • Graduation from an accredited Ontario Physician Assistant program (i.e PA-C, CCPA).
  • Certified as a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a clinical
setting
  • Knowledge of current medical practices and treatments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and review of
symptoms
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging to aid in diagnosis
  • Develop and implement treatment plans under the supervision of a physician or, independently
as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Prescribe medications and monitor the effectiveness of treatments
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention and management
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures
  • Collaborate and communicate with other members of the healthcare team for optimal patient
