The Role:

General Motors (GM) is a global leader in automotive innovation, dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable vehicles and services. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Deployment Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role requires expertise in SonarQube for code scanning, GitHub Enterprise, and React applications, as well as proficiency in Azure Databricks, managing workflows, and creating exceptional instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have at least a year and a half of experience in a production environment and a passion for maintaining high-quality solutions.

What You'll Do:

Code Quality and Deployment:

• Oversee the use of SonarQube for continuous code scanning and quality assurance.
Manage and optimize workflows in GitHub Enterprise for seamless integration and deployment of React applications.

Databricks Management:

• Handle the deployment and management of Azure Databricks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Develop and manage workflows within Databricks to streamline data processing and analytics.

Instrumentation and Monitoring:

• Create and maintain robust instrumentation for monitoring the health and performance of cloud applications.
Ensure high availability and responsiveness of production systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance.

Quality Assurance:

• Be obsessed with delivering high-quality solutions, implementing best practices, and enforcing rigorous testing protocols.
Continuously improve deployment processes to enhance the quality and reliability of cloud solutions.

Collaboration and Leadership:

• Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of cloud applications.
Lead initiatives to improve team productivity and efficiency through better tooling and automation.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

• Document best practices, troubleshooting steps, and deployment processes.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related field; Advanced degree or relevant certifications in data architecture, machine learning, or related areas is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a production environment as a Cloud Deployment Operations Engineer or a similar role.
• Masters in Computer Science , Information Technology, preferable
• Expertise in SonarQube, GitHub Enterprise, and React applications.
• Strong proficiency in deploying and managing Azure Databricks environments.
• Demonstrated ability to create and manage complex workflows and instrumentation.
• Passion for maintaining high-quality solutions in production environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
