About the role: Reporting to the Inventory and System Data Manager, the incumbent will lead their team in providing support to our internal clients during the coding process in order to meet our quality standards and reactivity requirements and contribute to an efficient supply flow. The incumbent will also be responsible for implementing the actions required to improve and correct our item databases in collaboration with our other regions/departments, while ensuring consistency across contractual and financial data. They will also work with the strategic sourcing team and provide the required system data to ensure the efficiency of the tendering process. In this role, you will:
  • Monitoring and, where necessary, adding to the indicators that enable us to track reactivity/quality/efficiency levels when creating or changing items or evaluating our system data.
  • Supporting and developing their team to contribute to their personal development and achieve our objectives.
  • Ensuring that documentation and processes required for departmental operations is available and disseminated.
  • Developing an action plan to upgrade item data in SAP and proposing solutions to optimize data quality, reliability and performance.
  • Ensuring effective communication to coordinate interdepartmental actions/needs on a regional and inter-regional level.
  • Making the most of our data by using our available tools including SAP/BI/COUPA and AI, and participating in setting up @catalogue.
  • Participating in checking and validating coding requests.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of SAP MDG and item file transactions (or another system for creating items).
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, maintenance and materials management.
  • Familiar with and has used a parts and services classification system such as the UNSPSC to manage item taxonomy.
  • A basic knowledge of project management, Lean methodology and continuous improvement.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Good analytical and summarizing skills.
  • A good level of English is required and knowledge of Spanish is a plus (inter-regional collaboration and trilingual item database in French, English and Spanish).
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field (procurement, information systems, engineering, etc.).
  • Team management experience in a similar role.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement with at least 5 in the creation/management and maintenance of system data in SAP MDG (MM), or a similar role.
  • Experience in the mining or industrial sector, where internal maintenance is the primary focus, is an asset.
