Job Responsibility:

JWe are seeking a senior technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate must have work experience working on large-scale Multi-residential or large commercial and institutional projects. Our growing firm is starting production on a high-rise multi-residential project with another in the development phase. We also have a significant project starting construction along the Halifax Waterfront this summer.

The successful candidate musthave:

• Graduated from a Canadian Technology Program or recognized equivalent,
• Have a C.E.T. [Certified Engineering Technologist] Designation or the ability to become certified within a year of being hired.
• Excellent skills in Revit 4
• Know the National Building Code and standards.

The Architectural Technologist will develop working drawings and construction documents, aid Project Managers and Design Leads with contract administration and site reviews, and support research and detailing of architectural building materials, systems, and detailing.

Responsibilities:

Prepare construction documents for building permit and tender documents;

Help develop technical solutions in response to design challenges;

Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of the National/Nova Scotia Building Code;

Support Project Managers and Lead Designers in completing construction documents and Working Drawings;

Research materials and methods in response to project criteria and requirements;

Building envelope detailing and design for residential, multi-residential and institutional projects.

Coordinating the office tech team workflow and processes to maximize the team’s efficiency.

Your skills + knowledge:

Excellent skill in Revit is essential;

10+ years working in an Architectural Technologist Role

Highly proficient in construction detailing;

Excellent experience in formatting and compiling a set of Construction drawings;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Experience in work sharing and collaboration using the BIM 360 platform is an asset;

Knowledge of the National and Nova Scotia Building Code is required;

Understanding of construction methods and practices is required;

Detail-oriented team player;

The Base Salary Range for a Senior Tech is $85K—$120K/ year, depending on experience.
